In the middle of the capital Amman, which takes its name from "Ammonites, a people who lived here 3000 years ago, beneath the imposing Temple Mount and at a green valley, is the Roman theater, built in the second century after the birth of jesus. It is used today for large feasts and ceremonies. For a hundred years, Amman has grown from a small village into a modern city today about 2 million inhabitants.
