Henning, long-standing co-opted member of the
Swedish-Jordanian Association,
Jordan's consul in Sweden and distinguished translator and
publisher,
received June 8 a medal by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf
of Sweden the following
reasons:
For significant contributions to the dissemination of
Swedish literature in the Arab
world.
Mona Henning has for many years done translations,
publishers and
promoted a large number of Swedish children's books, among
them Astrid Lindgren
books about Pippi Longstocking and Barbro Lindgren
Alfons-books. She has also
translated many books for adults Swedish into Arabic and
Arabic poetry to
Swedish.

SPRING TRIP 15 MAY !
A small group of members of the Swedish-Jordanian
Association accepted the invitation and took the
subway's Blue Line on Saturday May 15 running north
to Husby is where our president Othman Qadoumi
arranged a nice trip at the west of the Husby The
sun shined over us where hundreds of local families
opened their food baskets and grilled their food and
spent time in the beautiful weather. Large green
areas were to play football or fly a kite or just
walk.

THE SWEDISH-JORDANIANS SOCIETY
ELECTED A JORDANIAN PRESIDENT
The Swedish-Jordanian Society (SJS)annual meeting on March 28
elected as its new president Mr Othman Qadoumi.
Mr Qadoumi was born in Jordan 60 years ago but is a Swedish
citizen since 30 years and a member of the society board
since five years.
In Sweden, he has been active mainly in the food-industry. He
lives with his wife Margaret, engaged in Swedish
health care, in northern Husby in Stockholm and has
three children, one a pilot in the Royal Jordanian,
another son student in Royal Technical University,
and a daughter who has just passed her high schooll examination.
Here is

Two very knowledgeable rural researchers Jocke
Arvidsson and Hurri Anne had been invited to
talk about Husby farm and the site around it.
Until recently this was a great training ground for
the Swedish army, but now dominated by suburban area
with many people - in the vicinity there are large
companies Kista area - and Husby farm was once a
large farm. We also got to see and hear about old
times, from the Viking Age to the era when the
Swedish king, housed in the royal estate Husby.
In between, we talked about the Swedish-Jordanian
Association's future and the plans this fall to try
to arrange a member to travel to Jordan. Valuable
advisor Josef Qadoumi who was in Sweden from his job
as a pilot in the Royal Jordanian.

INEXPENSIVE FLIGHT ROUTE

At a
visit in Husby on April 18, the first under the leadership
of new President Othman Qadoumi, we were visited by Jennie
Tärndahl who told me about a trip to Jordan that she and her
family did last year. She had won a trip for a program that
ordandes of the Swedish-Jordanian tour with Apollo. During
the meeting, also scheduled for this autumn's 2010th Member
Letters will be sent out on this, but we can reveal that a
member is traveling with new airline Royal Falcon to Jordan
in October is planned, the new venue for our meetings are
investigated and planned a program on "Halalpop" (!) At d
Södertörn University College. A Christmas party in December.

Amman/Marka - Stockholm/Arlanda, twice a week, presented
their flights at a press conference at Arlanda airport April
