Relations between Sweden and Jordan.

The Society notes with pleasure the many good relations between our two countries. In 1989 the Swedish King and Queen made an official State Visit to Jordan. I n 2003 Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania made an official State Visit to Sweden. Her Royal Princess Majda Raad, born in Sweden, continues to play an important role in promoting personal relations between the Royal Courts of the two countries. Politically, there are close and warm relations between our countries on most issues of world politics.

Culturally, a great number of exchanges are taking place between Jordan and Sweden, in archaeology, in theatre and in the literary field. Business relations vary but have, in spite of the sometimes uncertain security situations in the region, continued to be steady and fruitful. Jordan is represented in Sweden by her embassy in Berlin, Germany. A consulate is functioning in Stockholm. The Society maintains close contacts with The Jordanian Scandinavian Friendship Association, her sister Society in Jordan and many exchanges between the two societies have taken place during the years.

Charlotta Sparre is the Swedish embassador in Amman, Jordan.
